(.VZ-PA.-Reuter— Copy right) BOMBAY. Onny Parun, of New Zealand, cruised through his second-round match in the grand prix tennis tournament in Bombay yesterday. beating R. Gehring (West Germany), 6-3, 6-1. A young American, J. Andrews, caused a major upset when he beat M. Santana (Spain), 7-6, 6-2, in the quarter-finals, and the top seed, A. Roche (Australia), was extended before beating another West German, U. Pinner, 6-7, 6-0, 6-4, in the second round.
A. Amritraj (India) and R. Crealy (Australia) survived the second round. Meanwhile, an Argentinian, G. Vilas, is on the verge of winning the Commercial Union grand prix and a prize of $96,000 in London. He beat M. Orantes (Spain), 6-1, 6-7, 7-6, and reached the semi-finals of the last leg of the Dewar Cup indoor circuit. J. Connors (United States) remained in contention by beating H. Solomon (United States), 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. T. Okker (Netherlands), and the defending Dewar Cup champion, also reached the semi-finals by defeating A. Ashe (United States), 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.
