Economic pinch
Sir, — The Government has been in labour and produced a weakling mouse. rise and fervently I sing “God Defend New Zealand,” as the present Vdmin-
istration is certainly, and sorely, in need of His help. Failing this, bring on Rob Muldoon, and long may he reign. — Yours, etc., JET. October 24, 1974. Sir, — Congratulations on your searching analysis (October 24) of the Government’s much publicised economic report and the placing of the photograph of the real government of the country on the front page of your paper. One could almost see the smile of the tiger on the faces of Messrs Skinner, Knox etc. No doubt the forthcoming meetings between the Federation of Labour and the elected representatives of the people will produce the real economic solutions for which the Labour Government is searching. — Yours, etc., FIAT LUX. October 24, 1974. Sir, — How refreshing to hear from a housewife such as L. Wheeler, If every housewife stood by her and strove to see that their husbands attended their union meetings and acted responsibly, much could be done to avoid strikes and undue 1 wage rises in the present critical situation. — Yours, etc., ! ANOTHER HOUSEWIFE. , October 24, 1974.
