Off-season training
The Christchurch senior Rugby team, which won the Harewood Trophy this year, is already looking toward next season. Mr A. L. Lydiard, the athletics coach, is coming to Christchurch this week to meet a request from the team for a summer training programme. Mr Lydiard has prepared off-season training programmes for several winter sports teams. Christchurch has good reason to want to strike form quickly next year. It has a tour of Australia early in March and will then go to Wellington for the Petone club’s champion-of-champions tournament.
