Dunk (New South Wales;, won i his fourth Australian Professional i Golfers’ Association champion* | ship by one stroke in the playoff at Liverpool yesterday ) Dunk fired a one-under par 71 i to defeat a Victorian. I. Stanley. Dunk trailed by two stroke* early in file play-off but sank a 30-foot downhill putt for an eagle on the par-5 eighth to square the match. He took the lead at the fourteenth where Stanley wa« J clearly unset by an incident and ■ fhree-putted. As the players were about to 1 putt a P.G.A. official decided to address the gallery through a megaphone. Dunk and Stanley paced nervously as the official spoke for about a minute durine which he
appealed for donations for the players. A gallery of about 2000 watched the gripping struggle, which was in doubt until Stanleys 12ft putt for a birdie at the last hole slipped just wide. The decisive factor was Dunk a better putting.
