Many apply for college
Competition will be keen for entry to the primary division of the Christchurch Teachers’ College next year, as there have been more than 800 applications for the 300 first-year places available. The Canterbury Education Board, which handles all applications for primary teacher-training, expects the applications to come close to the total last year of 900 applicants. The standard of those applying, for entry is as high but there has been no marked increase in the number ofj men applying for primary! teacher-training.
