Athletics trophy
A replica of the Jewellers’ Baton used to carry the Queen’s message from London to the Commonwealth Games in Christchurch will become a trophy to be competed for in future New Zealand track and field championships. A proposal that it be awarded to the centre scoring the most points on aggregate in relay events in the New Zealand senior, women’s and junior championships, will be considered at the annual conference of the national body in Wellington on October 18.
