Sport subsidy allocations
Recommendations on sport and recreation subsidies have been made by a special committee of the Paparua County Council, set up to consider 60 applications for shares of a county allocation of §17,670. The committee declined 15 applications, and approved ot 45, which in total came to the full $17,670. The applications annroved are subject to confirmation by the Ministry of Sport and Recreation the smallest of the approvals was for §3O to enable the West Melton Recreation Club to buy a new set of bowls.
The Counts’ Gliding Club's §l5OO towards the cost of a new glider. §lOOO for toilets at the Hombv Bowling Club. $llOO for a new well at the Weedons Countrv Club. §1270 for the council to improve Sockhurn Park swim[ming pool and .$BOO for the Christchurch Kart Club to resurface its track were the major approvals.
