Latvian arts and crafts
An exhibition of arts and crafts by the Christchurch Latvian Society is on display at the Building Centre, 211 Cashel Street. The work displayed is based on the crafts of embroidery (rugs and cushions), weaving (mittens and belts for traditional costume), repousse’ (decorative panels), and woodwork (candle holders and paper knives). The exhibition will remain open until October 13. Demonstrations of some aspects of craftwork will be given at interval by members of the Latvian Society. — G. T. M. Cup draw.— The draw for the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup is as follows: Celtic v. Airdrleonians at Hampden Park, Glasgow; and Falkirk v. Hibernian at Tynecastle Park, Edinburgh. Both matches are to be played on Wednesday, October 9.
