Turner’s problem solved
The problem of getting G. M. Turner home for the New Zealand cricket season may have been solved. For the last few years, he has come back for the summer as coach to the Otago Cricket Association, but it has become a difficult struggle for the association financially. It was announced yesterday that Turner, who returned on Monday after another successful year in England, will be employed by Rothmans. The firm said that Turner's primary responsibility will be coaching in the Otago area, in addition to his Plunket Shield and international commitments. Rothmans—a staunch supporter of cricket for many years—state that Turner’s duties will be complementary to those of the national coach, Mr M. J. Horton.
