Canterbury men invited
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Two Canterbury players, W. F. McCormick and V. Stewart, have been included in the Evergreens team to meet Saracens at Dannevirke on Saturday. Seven present internationals, seven former All Blacks, and a number of junior and Maori All Blacks have been selected for the match, which will mark the opening of a new grandstand at Dannevirke’s Rugby Park.
The Wallaby flanker, R. Price, and former Wellington and All Black wing, O. Stephens, have been invited from across the Tasman. Two members of the Fijian side which recently toured New Zealand, the half-back, Taito Rauluni, and a five-eighths, Wadi Gavidi, have also been invited.
The N.Z.R.F.U. last night gave the match official status of a first-class fixture.
