Superspan looks fit

(“The Press" Special Service) DUNEDIN. Superspan showed that he was in the right order to

test the opposition ir. the President’s Handicap, the first leg of the double at Gore tomorrow, when he worked well at Wingatui in the final gallops for the Eastern Southland Hunt

meeting. Ridden by race rider, A. K. Robinson, the Edenbridge gelding was not out for time and was past the 600 peg before getting into full stride, but he cut out the distance in 41 3-ssec. And had plenty in reserve at the finish.

Conditions were very wintry and the going on the sand, the only track fit to work on, was against fast times.

The fastest time over this distance was recorded by Watelse (G. Sanderson),

Gem Flight (G. Offen) and Rosealay (A. Robinson), which sprinted home in line ,in 39 2-ssec.

Bold Mellay (Offen) and Cock Your Ear (R. Me Ara) were given an easy task in 43 and this time was equalled by Dark River (Offen) in his final task for the Kennels Hurdles.

All Yours will miss the Eastern Southland Steeples and will start in the Kennels Hurdles. Willie Knows, top-weight in the Mandeville Handicap, is suffering from an attack of boils and his trainer, H. T. Anderton, said that he would miss his engagement.
