P. Yovlch 3 2910 BRYLEE (7) 53. Tough veteran which came back after a long spell to win over 1400 m at Pukekohe on August 3. Meanwhile, well beaten in sprint at Tauranga on Wednesday. K. Cullen 4 0311 GNAPAL (21) 523. Won over 1400 m at last two starts at Awapuni and Levin in July Had recent setback but if thoroughly fit could be a prospect even in this classy company.

T. Williams 5 0210 MATAPU (■*» 52.5. Disappointed at last start n> sprint at Te Rapa on August 17. Capable wet weather sprinter but has to give weight here to some formidable opponents.

J. Grylls 4 3254 PREPAK (3) 52.5. One of the top fillies last season but had to be let up in late summer with Injury. Galloping as well as ever and could make bold first up showing.

O. Peake 8 2350 AHI AY (19) 51.5. Tough gelding which despite solid campaign seldom finishes far away, but is finding it hard to win.

9 4412 DANDYMAN (14) 51. Game win in C.J.C. Winter Cup two starts back then ran on for close second to Brad on last day of Grand National meeting. Has to be respected.

J. Pankhurst 10 4444 CATAMARAN (10) 50 Won and finished second in sprints at Avondale in July but form meanwhile not too encouraging. Well beat-n at last two attempts. Would need tn improve. 11 0763 MR SOVEREIGN (10) 49.5. Showed best form for a while when moderate third at last start in sprint at Fl lersiie on August 24. Even at best, however, would find this comnnnv hard. 12 4512 JACKEE (4) 48 3 Racing consistently. Second in sprint

at Ellerslie last Saturday followed intermediate win on same course on August 14. Continues to train on well.

M. Stacey 13 1122 KAUERE LAD (12) 48.5. Came through lower grades impressively and lias raced well since for close seconds to Ilarrisand and Captain Jason at recent Ellerslie meetings. Slow starter and might find this distance a bit short.

W. Cardwell 14 3320 PAN EDITION (15) 48.5. Had string of good performances last season and looks sufficiently forward to make a showing even from difficult barrier draw.

. W. Robinson 15 0131 RANGITOTO (1) 48.5. Highly promising when working through lower grades. This will be first start since May but worth watching. 14 4212 SABRE PRINCE (20) 48. Won two starts back when making fresh start and good second meanwhile In sprint at Te Rapa on August. 17. Fast but up against it here from such a wide barrier position.

D. Eva 17 1419 SOLILOQUY (9) 48. One of the best two-year-old fillies last term. Resumed at Matamata on August 10. Needed that run and should improve as the tracks firm. Worth attention.

D. Southworth 18 3000 TRICMIST (5) 48. Raced well through spring and summer last season. This will be first race since Mav but showed up promisingly at recent Te Aroha trials.

C. Curnow 20 04 DOCTOR MONK (8) 47. Showed plenty of promise early in career but failed to train on as well as expected. Looks well again but hard to fancy in first face for nearly 12 months. 22 0000 TULLAMARIE (17) 47.
