Governor’s Bay planning
Sir, — But for opposition from Governor’s Bay residents, the Mount Herbert County Council would not have taken the “stand” referred to by Mr Norman Sutherland which prevented Mansons Point and the Gov-
emors Bay hillsides from being subdivided into small sections. “The Press” of September 8, 1972, quotes the county chairman as saying: “a good business deal can be of mutual advantage. Personally, that is what I think the Mansons Point plan could well be.” And Mr Sutherland: “Well planned subdivisions would lower the cost (of water and sewer schemes) to each household.” Both gentlemen showed obvious sympathy with the development plans of Mr G. P. O’Farrell. Should they care to refresh their memories on what, the “uninformed critics” were saying then, they will discover reasons given for preventing development which are those now put forward by the Environmental Planning Group which states that these two areas are unsuitable for development — Yours, etc., GUARDIAN.
