Viscounts cleared
Z Preu Aswcttfion* AUCKLAND. August 13. N.A.C. engineers, after re-; ceiving a cable from the British Aircraft Corporation, have inspected two of the airline’s Viscount series 800! airliners, and found nothing wrong with them. The cable, which went to! all Viscount users, is be- : tieved to have resulted from i the inspection of a Viscount which crashed recently in South Africa. It called for the< inspection of tail-spar attachment fittings on all airliners which had com- I pleted more than 20,000 landings. |i Two of N.A.C.’s four Viscounts came within this*category. They were immediately grounded, and inspections made Lottery draw Golden Kiwi lottery No. 608 will be drawn tomorrow. —(P.A.).
