Choirs and brass
The Addington Workshops Male Voice Choir and a brass ensemble from the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Brigade Band will join the Canterbury Singers in their second subscription concert on August 21. The programme will be a mixed selection, ranging from Wagner to popular songs, and the choirs will be heard singly and in various combinations. The brass ensemble will Join the combined choirs for one item, and solo items will be given by a brass quartet. The Canterbury Singers will be conducted by Alan Bennison. Alaistair Graham will conduct the workshops choir, and the brass ensemble will be under the band’s conductor, Ralph Simpson.
The concert, which will start at 8 p.m., will be in the Caledonian Hall.
