Burwood increases tennis lead
Burwood Park went further into the lead after the seventh round of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s winter interclub competition. Beating New Brighton without the loss of a match, Burwood increased its margin over Avonside, which beat Linwood Avenue by 4 matches to 2, by two points. Burwood leads Avonside bv 78 to 70, ahead of Shirley I 66, Linwood Avenue 50, and Edgeware 46. Two rounds remain to be played. Linwood Avenue 2, Avonside 4 Men's doubles. — B. Morrison and N.
