Price rise hearings
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 9. The Price Tribunal has an nounced public hearings for applications by both brewers and retailers for higher prices. On Monday, August 19, it will sit in public to hear the Brewers’ Association's application to be permitted to recover higher brewing costs by increasing their prices. And the following Thursday, August 22 — also in public — it will hear the Hotel Association and the Licensed Trusts Association’s application to be permitted to recover increased costs of retailing draught and packaged beer by way of increased prices in public bars and bottle stores.
