Hartill wins cycling
T. Hartill won the Hornby Cash Cycling Club’s 44km open handicap event, held in atrocious conditions. He and the other scratch riders, C. D. Yaxley and K. Heron, caught the middle-markers early in the race, and the front-markers with 4km to ride.
The three scratch riders filled the first three places— Yaxley headed off Heron for second—and their time wa' 63min ssec. B. Blackburn led the other seven riders.
