Mobil Song Quest
Four Christchurch singers ihave been selected to take part in the 1974 Mobil Song Quest, which will begin on August 4. They are Misses A. Young, M. Purdie, and D. Low and Mr H. Harvey.
They are among 32 singers, chosen from 308 applicants, who will be heard in [a series of eight weekly broadcasts on the commercial network, beginning on August 4.
One singer will be selected each week to go forward to the semi-finals. The eight semi-finalists will then be brought together in Auckland for a public concert on September 26. The three finalists chosen will then sing to the accompaniment of the N.Z.B.C. Symphony Orchestra at a public concert in the Wellington Town Hall on October 5.
