Gunsmoke
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) FORT WAYNE (Indiana), May 20. What happened to Mrs Mary Jo Place is beyond the health hazards warned of on cigarette packages. Mrs Place took a pistol from a drawer and went to investigate during the nig'it when she thought she heard a prowler. Finding nothing unusual, she put the pistol on a nightstand and went back to bed. On Sunday morning she said the awoke, took out a cigarette, reached to the nightstand for the pistolshaped lighter she keeps there — and shot herself in the left hand.
