Okaiawa, have much pleasure in announcing the engagement of their only daughter, Karen, to John, youngest son of Mr and Mrs D. I. S. MacLeod, 6 Mason Road, Hawera.
National appeal —-A bid to raise $2OOO was started this month by the New Zealand Country Women’s Institute. The money is being raised for the League for the Hard of Hearing which will use the money for its work, including the teaching of lipreading and the use of hearing aids. The national appeal will end next month. — (P.A.)
