March on No. 10

An estimated 60,000 people marched to No. 10 Downing -Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister (Mr Wilson) yesterday, in protest against Britain's abortion laws. The leader of the demonstration, which was organised by the Society for the 'Protection of Unborn ChildI ren, delivered a letter adj dressed to Mr Wilson and Three wreaths of white flow|ers. At a rally held earlier in (Hyde Park, the demonstrators had heard a Conservative member of Parliajment, Mr William Deedes denounce the abortion laws. • “We have been careless! ;about profiteers and touting,) ) careless about the European; traffic, and careless about] the medical consequences for some,” he said. Malcolm Muggeridge, told the rally that freer abortion might well (lead to legalised mercy killing. “We have to take account of the virtual certainty that after legalised (abortion, legalised eu-| ithanasia is now in the pipeline,” he said.
