“Price of oil to increase
(N Z P A -Reut.-r—Copyrijl • WASHINGTON. April 28 The Shah of Iran said in an interview published today he was not prepared to cut oil prices and, in fact, prices would be going up.
Asked in an interview in “I nitcd States News and World Report” magazine if he was prepared to cut prices, he replied, “No, why should we? This is what han is using to iniprove the lives ol 32 million people."
The Shah said that oil prices would be rising, rather than going down, despite the end of the Arab oil embargo against the United States.
"Why not?" he asked. “The prices of things we must buy are going up, always up.”
The Shah defended Iran's build-up of its military strength forecasting that it might soon be the world's fifth largest military power.
