Amalgamation meeting

GREYMOUTH, April 21. Delegates from the 11 acclimatisation societies in the ' South Island will meet in Hokitika tomorrow to discuss the Government recommendation that they be reduced in number to seven within 12 months. Ways of amalgamation will be discussed, and four members of the Department of Internal Affairs will convey ■ the Government’s attitude. i Expected to amalgamate : with each other are the Westland and West Coast soc- ■ ieties. two of the smallest in .New Zealand. i
