Fri leaves in June tiV.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 21. The peace yacht Fri will i leave on a “peace odyssey’” in June, travelling as far north at Vladivostok in its; round of port calls. The Fri will call at Pacific ports occupied by all five nuclear powers. Other calls . will probably be at Shanghai and the French nuclear test, island of Mururoa. The Fri, which last year was dragged out of the test/ zone by a French warship, has been handed over by its owner-skipper, Mr D. Moodie. to act as flag ship of the newly-formed Greenpeace Foundation. Mr Moodie said that he was leaving for Taurangai today to talk to the crew; about the handover, and pre-:, pare the vessel for a refit,] next month at Nelson. A spokesman said the/ foundation’s project already ' had the backing of several ; church and union groups, in- 1 eluding the unanimous sup- . port of the Anglican Genera! ] Synod which met in Ham- 1 ilton earlier this month. •
