Apple Bd chairman killed
«A 7. Pi fxy Usoi. itHtnn I OAMARI’. April 19. The chairman of the Apple and Pear Board, Mr Shapton Donald Sinclair. aged 50. of Eves \ alley. Brightwater. Nelson, was killed about 11 p.m. yesterday.
! His tar left the road, demolished a bridge and ended up m a creek west of IWaimate His body was found in the creek. Mr Sinclair had been alone in the car. LONG SERVICE
Mr Sinclair was elected to the Apple and Pear Board in. 1959 as a grower representative. and had served on it continuously. He was elected chairman in 1967. He was deputy chairman; of the Exports and Shipping Council, and represented his; board on the Trade and Promotion Council.
I Mr Sinclair is survived by, : his wife and two daughters, land a son and daughter by al I former marriage. The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Moyle) and his [tinder-secretary (Mr Barclay)! ,said the tragic death of Mr Sinclair had deprived the ifruit growing industry of one of its ablest leaders.
