Terrorists’ sentence
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright)
ATHENS, April 19. The Greek judicial authorities are to reconsider the 1 case of two young Arab commandos sentenced to death for an attack at Athens Airport in which five people died and 45 were wounded. An authoritative source in Athens says that the file on the case was submitted yesterday to the Pardon Committee, with a recommendation by the Athens Prosecutor that the sentence be commuted to life imprisonment.
The two men, Shafik Arid and Talaal Khantouran, both 22, threw three grenades and fired machine-gun bullets into the airport’s crowded transit lounge on August 5 last year.
