Arrears award made
Arrears of wages amounting to $412.90 were granted to a Christchurch woman in a reserved decision of the Arbitration Court. The award was made after an inspector of awards for the Department of Labour brought a claim against Hori Collett, trading as Sevicke Jones, opticians. Judge A. P. Blair held that a former employee of Mr Collett, Mrs N. P. Blogg, had performed duties for him which were substantially clerical and that she should have been paid according to the Clerical Workers’ Award.
