New plan for virgin lands
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) MOSCOW, March 17. The Soviet Union Communist Party General Secretary (Mr Brezhnev) yesterday announced a vast new agricultural development plan for Russia’s northern regions. The programme, which will cost the equivalent of about SNZ3O,OOOm over the next five years, is on the scale of the virgin lands programme begun by the late Mr Krushchev.
