Higher offer by Dom. Brew.
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Feb. 18. Dominion Breweries, Ltd, has increased its bid for Barraud and Abraham, Ltd, by 60c a share and offered an interesting alternative, which would enable existing B and A shareholders to retain a 25 per cent interest in the company.
The earlier offer, announced on Januaij 25, was seven shares for every four B and A shares or notes, plus 10c cash a share or note. This has now been raised to 70c cash. As an alternative, Dominion Breweries offers the same share swap ratio, but only 30c cash a share, plus the transfer back to B and A shareholders of one-quartei share for each B and A share or note in respect of which the offer is accepted. B and A shareholders have the option of allocating their acceptances between the two alternatives, but those for the second must be in multiples of 200 shares.
Those who have already accepted the first offer can change partly or entirely to the second alternative.
The time for acceptance had been extended to April 5.
