Single-wicket tournament
Four former winners of the Shirley Lodge single-wicket tournament will now play in the eighth tournament, at Burwood Oval on Sunday. B. F. Hastings, who won the first tournament in 1967, yesterday agreed to join the field. The other past winners are J. F. M. Morrison (1973), K. Thomson (1972) and B. G. Hadlee (1971). The only past winners not playing are B. R. Taylor (1968) and R. W. Morgan (1969): there was no tournament in 1970 because of bad weather.
Three of the most regular competitors in the tournament have also accepted Invitations to compete. They are K. !■ Ferries, runner-up tn the first three years. J. W. Grocott, and R. C. Merrln.
