Old soldiers fading away
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. New Zealand veterans of the Boer War are holding their last reunion in Palmerston North, where they had their first gathering more than 70 years ago. About 60 survivors of the struggle are registered with the Returned Services Association, but only a dozen have been mustered for the celebrations. The old soldiers at the reunion, who fought in South Africa between 1899 and 1902, are al! now aged between 91 and 96.
