Heaphy move
Solicitors have been engaged to prepare submissions to the Government and to act in other matters for the Organisation to Save the Heaphy Track following a meeting of branch representatives at the week-end. The organisation’s petition to keep the track unspoiled will go to Parliament within two months. Though no tally of signatures has yet been made, Mr A. A. Adcock, spokesman for the group, said “Something like 40,000 names could be on it.”
The meeting decided to encourage, through its brochures and speakers, as many people as possible to walk the track to see it for themselves, said Mr Adcock.
