Cancellation of tours

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Feb. 7. A lack of interest by tourists has led to the cancellation of 13 coach tours planned to pass through the West Coast after the Commonwealth Games. Ten coach loads due for an overnight stay in Greymouth this week have been cancelled. One hotel reported that two coaches due during the last week of the Games and another due this week had been cancelled Nevertheless, Shantytown has had more visitors than expected. The manager of the venture (Mr N. F. Thomas) said yesterday that, during the first six days of February, 1000 more persons had visited the town than in the same period last year: and so far this week 21 coaches had passed through, compared with 12. A number of Games athletes visited Shantytown.
