Plea for normal sugar buying
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 6. A commonsense approach by the public during past sugar shortages had resulted in few people really going short, said Mr R. M. Barker, secretary of the National Association of Retail Grocers. He said the margin between shortage' and sufficiency was very narrow, and urged housewives to obtain their needs, rather than their wants. “If, at the same time, they buv from their normal source instead of ‘shopping around,’ I am confident that nobody will go without,” he said. “A few people however, may not be able to purchase all the sugar they would like.”
