Feb. 6. j The South Vietnamese yes- ' terday rejected a Chinese claim on the Sprat ley Islands and reasserted its sovereignty ■over them and the Paracel archipelago and in the South iChina Sea. A Foreign Ministry statement said that South Vietnam reaffirmed that the Spratley and Paracel islands "are an integral part of its (territory and that all historical, geographic and legal data as well as present realities prove that the islands belong to the Republic of South i Vietnam.”
