Heart surgery in Nigeria

Press Assn —Copyright) i LAGOS, Feb. 6. ■ A team of four surgeons, [has completed Nigeria’s first : open-heart operation at the University Teaching Hospital' [in Enugu, in the East Centra! ■ State. An Egyptian, Mr Magdi : Yakub, who is a consultant [surgeon at the Harefield and [National Heart Hospital in London, led the surgery on a (Nigerian man, and was assisted by three Nigerian surI geons. The operation, watched by .more than 50 other doctors, I is believed also to have been the first open-heart surgery done in black Africa.
Guerrilla’s message A message thrown from the window of the embassy, which is in the same block as the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry, said: “We demand that the Japanese Government send a Japanese airliner to Singapore to carry the four heroes who accomplished the refinery explosion operation at the Shell installations, the men to be carried, with their arms and their hostages, to ! Kuwait. “The Patrick Argolo group of the Popular Front for the! Liberation of Palestine and the Red Army and the Sons of the Occupied Land Organisation request their four colleagues in Singapore not to accept political asylum at any foreign embassy, and to withdraw the letter they sent to the North Korean mission!
