Linwood Avenue

Sir, —Just over two years ago I wrote inquiring whether the city council would keep the grass median in Linwood Avenue more regularly mown, as for the most part of the year the grass is long, unruly and readily collects rubbish. I was assured (that no such undertaking would be possible until the avenue was sufficiently upgraded and the grass median relevelled. I, along with many other residents, have been intrigued to see the median, without being ‘upgraded’, carefully fertilized and very regularly mown over recent months, to pro-

vide a presentable route for Games visitors. It is apparent that the median can be readily and e.asily mown, with a tidy and clean avenue as a consequence. Residents have been delighted to see this temporary care and attention, but they are most anxious to learn from the city council if this is to continue now that the Games are over.—Yours etc., TEMPORARILY PROUD RESIDENT. February 3, 1974.
