THE WEDDING Gil I Str, —1 disagree with H D. McN.'s review’ of the play (“The Wedding Gift". He (evidently missed the point of the story, that of a bondj ed girl’s last-minute fight to avoid marriage with an old man she barely knew. Ke zie’s concealment of the wedding gift of matches which could have avoided the "bundling” your reviewer finds so objectionable, revealed to discerning viewers that there is more than one w r ay to fight for freedom. In my opinion, the play surpassed anything yet offered by the New Zealand Play ■ house. —WATCHDOG.
