200 flats sought
More than 200 flats were! required in Christchurch for! students of the University of! Canterbury, Mr P. J. Harris, The flatting officer for the. University of Canterbury Stu- i !dents’ Association, said yes-! ; terday. Mr Harris said that about 450 students wanted flats, particularly in the IlamRiccarton area. “The situation is pretty grim; we have an almost impossible job on our hands in finding flats. The response so far to our request for flats, first made in December, has been poor, but perhaps now that the Commonwealth Games are over we can look forward to a better response,” he said.
