'Job done' with whale
A dead whale washed up on the Waikuku beach on Saturday was buried by Rangiora County Council staff y esterday. Neither the Marine Department nor the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries was interested in burying the v. hale when approached, so council staff had buried the < arcase before it became objectionable. said the County Clerk (Mr A. A. H. McKenzie) yesterday. The whale, just a "baby! one. only 18 feet,” was buried; in a trench bulldozed above! the high water mark.
