Praise for course
Courses to assist the manu- ( ifacturing industry, such as, • the pilot course for super-• (visors at factory floor levelrun by the Christchurch Technical Institute, should be expanded, said the president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association (Mr L. G. Davison) yesterday. He was reporting to the monthly meeting of the association’s council. Mr Davison said the pilot course, of five two-hour sessions and lectures on industrial awards, company organisation, communications, accident prevention, and the role of the supervisor. had been of considerable benefit. Executives of the five companies which sent the nine supervisors to the course had reported that it had been well worth while, said Mr Davison. Suggestions had since been made that there should be more courses. Mr Davison thanked the Technical Institute and its principal (Mr C. V. Gallagher) for the planning put into the (course and for the manner (of its presentation.
