20 Games records
The world record set by Filbert Bayi (Tanzania) in the 1500 metres final on Saturday was undoubtedly the most notable of the 20 Commonwealth Games records established during the six days of track and field competition. In addition, the marathon—which does not have official records because of the variations between courses—was won in a Games best performance.
