World bonds in Melbourne
The fourth world bowls championships will be held in Melbourne during 1980. ] An application by the Australian Bowls Council for] the event has been approved by the International Bowling Board. An application by the Australian council to hold an open tournament in New South Wales immediately after the World championships was given qualified ap-J proval by the board. Western Samoa’s application for admission as an associate member of the board was approved. Mr Trevor Toms, of the Welsh Bowling Association, was elected president; Mr John Henderson, of the Canadian Lawn Bowls Council becomes senior vice-pres-ident, and the new junior vice-president is Mr N. E. Summersgill, of the Rhodesian Bowling Association.
