Crash toll now 95
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 3. ! The death toll in the Pago Pago air crash has risen to ■95. Ten of the 101 passengers and crew on the flight from Auckland to Los Angeles escaped from the aircraft. Four — all American — have since died in hospital. Among the six survivors are a young Auckland couple. Mr and Mrs Roger Cann, and the aircraft’s second officer. Mr James S. Phillips, of California. The other three survivors are American. The condition of Mr and Mrs Cann was not available tonight. Mr Phillips has had his legs amputated. Boxing.—J. Kechichian (France)) retained the European junior! middle-weight boxing title when; the referee stopped his scheduled: 15-round bout against H. Orsojlics I Austria) in the ninth round.
