Many calls to Brisbane
(N.Z. Press Association ANCKLAND, Jan. 30. The international toll i branch of the Auckland Chief Post Office handled an estimated 2000 calls to Australia yesterday—mainly to Queensland from people worried about residents and relatives holidaying in the floodstricken area. About 1700 calls were made to the area on Monday, compared with the usual weekday average of 750.
The volume of traffic was too great for circuits available to Brisbane and at peak times delays of about twol hours were experienced. I
