Seminar on poverty
(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. World poverty and unemployment and the role of New Zealand trade unionists in tackling these problems will be the theme of a two day seminar starting in Lower Hutt today., About 20 trade union executives attending the seminar will include two overseas speakers, Mr B. McCall, an education officer with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, and Mr J. Raman, general secretary of the Fijian Trade Union Congress. They will outline the overseas situation. The secretary of the Federation of Labour (Mr W. J. Knox) will lead the discussion during the seminar which will include panel and greup discussions on the role of trade unions in developing countries.
