TIMARU. The South Island open croquet championship at Timaru has been won by R. Murfitt of Christchurch, who beat Mrs 1. G. Middlemiss, 28-2. in the final Mrs Middlemiss beat J. McNab 26-18. for the runner-up position. Other results:— Handicap singles—Semi-final D. Bulloch beat Mrs R Richardson 26-19. Final: BuUoch beat G Shaw. 26-18. Handicap doubles—Final: P Murfitt and J. Anstev < Timaru beat M. Porter and Mrs G. Fulcher (Timaru). 26-12.
