Scottish Ceilidh
On the night of the closing of the Commonwealth Games, the Highland Piping Society of Canterbury has organised a grand Scottish Ceilidh at the Caledonian Hall.
Compered by Mr A. Thomson, the programme will include Scottish songs by concert soloists Heather Taylor and Ronald Gray; bagpipe items by New Zealand’s top solo pipers, William Boyle and Donald Bain; highland dancing by champign dancers; Scottish country dancing by 16 dancers from the Christchurch region of the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Association; and items from Charlie Jemmett’s Scottish country dance band.
