Price of wheat
Sir,—Your sub-leader in “The Press” on January 25 on the price of wheat was out of date almost before it was written, mainly because of the increase in the fuel prices announced late the following day. The wheat price as fixed by the Minister for the coming season, is quite inadequate, for reasons that are too numerous to mention here in the space available, but all of which make up a good case for a higher price for wheat than has been offered. By the way when do you expect to have to raise the price of your excellent paper, (still quite the best in the country) to meet the increased cost of fuel, which in your case must be considerable?—Yours etc., HAROLD VAVASOUR.
